Being an adrenaline junkie at heart, here I was fascinated to check how much adventurous and crazy I am! Zipflyer in Pokhara, Nepal isn’t certain for the faint heart.
It’s the longest, steepest and fastest Zipflyer in the world, yes in the world!!!
One fly here on a 1,800-meter long rope with the speed going up to 120 kmph max at a height of 2,000 feet vertical drop. The rope is 56 degrees inclined at the end which makes it the steepest zipflyer in the world. Huh! If you can visualize it with these numbers, you must have realized how extreme it is!
The best part was that it greeted us with the Annapurna mountains’ immense beautiful views from the top. (The 10th tallest mountain in the world with a height of 8,091 meters).
My sister and I booked ourselves for the Zipflyer and started at 4 AM the other day to Sarangkot first to enjoy the sunrise and Annapurna views there. Although, we weren’t lucky enough to enjoy the sunrise and mountain views properly as it was a cloudy day. 🙁 Yet, the place was beautiful so we had spent a few hours there. Enjoyed our time in a café with beautiful views all around. The coffee tasted even better with the spectacular views on a cold morning. Now, it was time to experience some extreme adventure.
The best part I felt about Pokhara is that it caters to all levels of adventure enthusiasts. One can also try out Bungy jumping, Paragliding, and Ultralight – Microlight flight in the city.
We only chose to do Zipflyer in Pokhara, Nepal for its extreme adventure.
After a short drive from Sarangkot, we were taken to the take-off point. My sister and I were excited but also panicked a bit after seeing the height. But then adventures are meant to give you that anxiety and thrill feeling at the same time.
Just after a short briefing and harnessing, we were all set to fly. three…two…one and it started. Huh! I was in a different world then, felt as if I’m soaring.
Check out my ride video to see how much I enjoyed it. 😀
It was just a wonderful experience to soar in the sky with strong winds blowing and body swaying gently in the air. I am so happy to have ticked off this extreme adventure from my long adventures bucket list!
It was a different feeling to be in the air at such a tremendous height, with snow-clad mountain views and feeling that adrenaline rush. It’s a feeling that cannot be described in words. You got to take that guts to fly onto it to experience it yourself. Give it a shot once in your lifetime, you will thank yourself later. 😉
